This parcel is 60 acres at the west end of Lake Vermilion.

It is Secluded with 20 acres bordering approximately 1500 feet of Kallio Road.  40 acres are attached to the parcel to the east. It is three miles from the Vermilion River Dam, and Wolf Bay. The bay has Resort Lodging, Boat-In Docking, Wolf Bay Lodge Bar and Restaurant. The views of Lake Vermilion and surrounds from the nearby ranger’s tower are Spectacular.  The area has Cross Country Ski Trails and Snowmobile Trails (see links on home page) as well as Winter Road Access to Islands and Lake Vermilion.

The land is enrolled until January of 2012 in the “SIFA” program which is a state tax break program as an incentive to preserve the forest and forebear from building on the land.  Any dwelling that is not affixed to the land and temporary is permissible while in the SIFA program.  

Most of the land is High Ledge Rock, with a Large, Central Plateau.  See the topographical map below. The land gradually steps down to the east, ending in Wwetlands.  DNR controlled tax forfeited land is adjacent to the east and south of the land.  It is rolling hills and low lands.  An Old Logging Road / Trail at Kallio Road is ATV, Foot or Horseback Passable.  It leads up to the interior of the plateau which was the former staging area for logging activity.  It is a large, flat, cleared area suitable for Camping.  The area had been logged and is forested largely with young Poplar and Jack Pine.  Former spur roads are now hiking trails to the east.

The land has been used for Bird and Deer Hunting by local people.  The owner has no first hand knowledge regarding the quantity or quality of the area for hunting.
